Safaricom customers get up to 15% off Kenya Airways flights through My OneApp

Safaricom customers can now book Kenya Airways flights through the My OneApp and enjoy discounts of up to 15 per cent under a new partnership between the two Kenyan companies.

The partnership enables Safaricom’s more than 57 million subscribers to search, book and pay for Kenya Airways flights directly through the app without switching between different platforms.

To mark the launch, customers will receive a 15 per cent discount on international flights and 10 per cent on domestic flights, subject to applicable terms and conditions for journeys originating from Kenya.

Kenya Airways Chief Commercial and Customer Officer Julius Thairu said the partnership would make air travel more accessible and convenient to customers.

“This partnership is about more than booking flights. It is about bringing the world closer to our customers,” Thairu said.

He said combining Kenya Airways’ global network with Safaricom’s digital reach would make travel more accessible to millions of Kenyans.

Through My OneApp, customers can access Kenya Airways’ network across Africa and beyond, including destinations served through its codeshare partnerships and SkyTeam Alliance membership.

The airline’s network, together with its alliance and codeshare connections, provides access to more than 1,000 destinations across 173 countries.

Customers can also pay for their flights using M-Pesa within the app, allowing them to complete the booking and payment process on a single platform.

The companies said the partnership was aimed at simplifying travel planning as more consumers turn to digital self-service platforms.

They added that integrating flight search, booking and payment into an app already used by millions of customers would help reduce the steps involved in planning and purchasing air travel.

The partnership brings together Safaricom’s digital ecosystem and Kenya Airways’ regional and international network, linking travel planning and payment on a single platform.
