 1. Introduction

At Jumuiya News, we are committed to responsible journalism and the ethical use of technology.

This AI Use Policy outlines our position on the use of our content by artificial intelligence (AI) systems, data aggregators, and automated tools.

Our journalism is created by humans for humans — not for automated data extraction or model training without consent.

 2. Use of Jumuiya News Content by AI Systems

We expressly prohibit the following uses of our content without prior written authorization:

AI Training: Using any text, image, video, or audio published on Jumuiya News for training or fine-tuning large language models, generative AI systems, or similar technologies.

AI Input: Using our content as real-time input for AI-generated search results, summaries, chatbots, or generative tools.

Automated Extraction: Large-scale scraping, crawling, or data mining beyond what is permitted by our robots.txt

Permitted uses include:

  •  Search indexing by legitimate search engines (e.g., Google, Bing, Yahoo).
  •  Fair use for research, education, and citation, provided it does not involve automated replication or redistribution.

 3. Our Robots.txt Policy

We maintain a transparent robots.txt file that:

  •  Allows indexing by major search engines for discoverability.
  •  Disallows crawling by AI model trainers such as GPTBot, CCBot, ClaudeBot, and others.
  •   Any entity ignoring these directives is in breach of our stated terms of use and may be subject to legal or technical action.

 4. Attribution and Republishing

We encourage sharing our stories with proper credit and links back to the source.

However, automated reproduction or AI summarisation that omits authorship or context is strictly prohibited.

If you wish to license Jumuiya News content for research, educational, or AI-related projects, please contact: the editor at info@jumuiya.co.ke
