Village elders and Nyumba kumi elders in Konjora sub location have decried exclusion by the government.

The elders decried that despite being in the forefront in implementing government directives and coronavirus protocols, they were left out on the list of beneficiaries to get food support.

Led by Joseph Changawa from Fumbini, the elders said their families have equally been affected by the pandemic and they need food aid too.

“We do not get any pay from the government. We depend on menial jobs which are now hard to get. It came as a surprise to us that we were excluded from the list of beneficiaries,” said Changawa

Kadzo Kazungu that most of them depend on their children who are currently at home after their places of work closed due to the Corona virus outbreak.

Daniel Wanje said that no one among the 265 elders has received food aid.
