After the collapse of the African Safari club in 2008 and subsequent sell of the company properties, many Kenyans failed to get their salaries.

In a petition filed by Kisauni MP Ali Mbogo, MPs now call for justice for the workers who were mostly casuals.

Mbogo wants people who lost jobs in the Shanzu hotels owned by the African Safari club be compensated

while supporting the petition Kilifi north MP Owen Baya urged the departmental committee on to scrutinize how foreign investors treat locals in terms of employment and salaries.

African Safari club owned Watamu Beach Hotel, Sea Horse Club, Malaika Beach Hotel, Dolphin Beach Hotel, Flamingo Beach Hotel, Shimo La Tewa Hotel, Coral Beach Hotel, Palm Beach Hotel, Shanzu Beach Hotel, Paradise Beach Hotel, Mara Buffalo Camp, Crocodile Camp and Kimana Lodge
