UDA has not shortchanged us in officials’ list-MP Baya

UDA

Kilifi north Member of Parliament Owen Baya has responded to claims that he has been shortchanged by the United Democratic Alliance UDA.

This is after the party released names of 31 officials of the party with Owen Baya and Aisha Jumwa missing from the least.

Speculations were rife that the two leaders have been ditched by the party.

Baya officials cannot be political leaders in elected or nominated positions in parliament or county Assemblies.

“I have read interesting comments about how Owen Baya Amechezwa and how our supporters are feeling demoralized about this list of 31 officials. This is to put it very clear to both the doomsayers and our supporters like Ngoma Duncan. None of the officials in this list is an elected leader currently serving on elective seats nor nominated seats. Having our names in there would offend the Political  Parties Act,” Baya wrote in his social media

He said the coast is represented by  Karisa Nzai and Elina Mapenzi.

“This list of 31 is not exhaustive as there are many organs of the party whose officials have not been listed here and which are also populated by our nation (Coast),” he added.
