Tana River MCA, Hamisi Idd, dies in road accident

Chewani Member of County Assembly in Tana River County Hamisi Idd is dead.

He died in a grisly road accident in Kanagoni area on the Garsen-Malindi highway on Saturday morning, police said.

He died on the spot.

Idd was the minority leader in the County Assembly of Tana River.

Coast police boss Tom Kimani said police are investigating the incident.

He said the body was taken to a mortuary in Malindi.

UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala condoling with the family said the incident has robbed his family, friends, relatives, and the people of Tana River, a leader, father, husband, and friend from whom the hope for a better future was guaranteed.

Idd was a first-term county elected MCA under a UDA party ticket.

Before his election, he served as a bodyguard for the governor of Tana River.
