The National Assembly Committee on Appointments has rejected Stella Soi Lang’at’s nomination as the Cabinet Secretary for Gender, Culture, Arts and Heritage.
Announcing the decision on Wednesday, August 7, National Assembly Majority Leader Kimani Ichung’wah did not provide reasons for the committee’s rejection of Lang’at’s appointment.
However, Ichung’wah confirmed that the committee had approved the other 19 Cabinet nominees following a four-day vetting process last week.
The approved Cabinet nominees include Prof. Kithure Kindiki (Interior), Dr. Debra Mulongo Barasa (Health), Alice Wahome (Lands), Julius Migos Ogamba (Education), Roselinda Soipan Tuya (Defence), Andrew Muhia (Agriculture), Aden Duale (Environment), Eric Muriithi Muga (Water), Davis Chirchir (Transport), Dr. Margaret Nyambura Ndung’u (ICT), John Mbadi (Treasury), Salim Mvurya (Trade), Rebecca Miano (Tourism), James Opiyo Wandayi (Energy and Petroleum), Kipchumba Murkomen (Sports), Hassan Joho (Mining, Blue Economy, and Maritime Affairs), Alfred Mutua (Labour), Wycliffe Oparanya (MSMEs), and Justin Muturi (Public Service).
