Nairobi governor Mike Mbuvi Sonko was on Monday night rushed to Kenyatta National Hospital (KNH) after falling ill.
Sonko was rushed to KNH after examinations by medical officers at the Industrial Area Prison where he was remanded after he pleaded not guilty to graft charges.

On Monday, Sonko’s lawyers had applied for bail application, arguing that the governor was sick and needed medical attention. Chief Magistrate Douglas Ogoti ruled that Sonko would get medical attention after approval by prison authorities.
