In a sworn affidavit, Assistant Superintendent of Police George Muriuki said the state believes that some bodies were being transported from Mavueni to be buried in Shakahola.

The intelligence information further reveals that upon the demise of the innocent and vulnerable followers of Odero, their bodies were preserved at a private mortuary in Kilifi.
