Several Injured In Multi-Car Crash At Givole Along Kisumu-Kakamega Road

Several people were Tuesday morning injured with over seven vehicles damaged in a road accident at Givole along the Kisumu-Kakamega road.

The morning accident happened at a police roadblock.

Eyewitnesses said a lorry driver had a break failure, ramming into vehicles that had slowed down at a police checkpoint.

Most vehicles had extensive damage while the occupants were pulled out with serious injuries.

Vihiga county police Commander Benjamin Ong’ombe says there were no casualties reported yet.

“Yes there has been an accident that occurred at Givole in Hamisi area where a truck lost control and rammed into other vehicles,” Ong’ombe confirmed.

Ong’ombe says the truck rammed into other vehicles after break failure.

Those who were involved n the accident have been rushed to County referral for medication.

“Even though we don’t have clear figures we have deployed some of our officers to get the real figures and the situation at hand as well,” he said.
