This follows the death of John Izungu Mohamed, a founding member of the band.

He eulogized Izungu as a talented musician whose contributions to the music industry will be sorely missed.

“As the music community mourns the loss of one of their own, they honour John’s legacy and the indelible mark he left on the industry,” Katana said.

The late Izungu was inducted into the Country Music Hall of Fame in 2013.
