Recalled sub county administrators now redeployed

The Kilifi County government has reassigned new duties to seven sub county administrators earlier on recalled by governor Gideon Mung’aro.

The seven, who were employed during the first regime of Amason Kingi as Kilifi governor, were recalled early this month.

On Thursday, acting Kilifi county secretary and head of public service Martin Mwaro announced that the seven have been redeployed to serve in various departments as administration heads.

Mwaro said the redeployment is part of governor Mung’aros restructuring to ensure an effective and lean government.

Godana Dhulo, who served as the Kaloleni sub county administrator, has been redeployed as head of administration in the department of Gender, Culture, Youth and sports.

Athman Fatihiya, has been redeployed as the acting director devolution in the department of public service management, devolution and civic education.

Lwambi Wale has been redeployed as the head of project monitoring, office of the county secretary.

Former Kilifi south sub county administrator Penina Dzombo has been moved to the department of finance and economic planning as the head of administration.

Jacob Sirya, who was the Kilifi north sub county administrator has been redeployed to the trade, tourism promotion and cooperative development as head of administration.

Joel Deche has been redeployed to the roads, transport and public works while Sheyumbe Shebwa has been moved to the department of Agriculture, Livestock development and blue economy as head of administration.

Mwaro said the positions have been there but no officers had been employed to take them up.

“These are not new positions we have created. These positions have been there in the establishment but they had not been filled up. That is why we have brought in these officers to enhance service delivery,” said Mwaro.

The changes take effect immediately.
