Mombasa United Democratic Alliance UDA leaders now claim Azimio leader Raila Odinga is a persistent “killer of democracy”.
Led by Mombasa Nominated Senator Miraj Abdilahi the leaders accused Odinga of using his electoral loss as a step towards what they term as ‘Handshake’ with duly elected authorities.
Miraj noted that there is no reason for the Azimio Leader to participate in an election that he always claims is conducted unfairly.
“Why should we have an election when Baba always complains about electoral malpractice,” she said.
Miraj said Raila’s protests are of no benefit to the Coast locals.
The vocal senator urged the locals to ignore his protests.
“The protests Raila leads do not benefit our locals in the Coast region. I urge you to ignore such protests,” she further pointed out,” she said.
She further added that Coast locals should not participate in Raila’s demonstrations saying they have a negative impact on the economy.
The senator called on Kenyans to rally behind President William Ruto saying he was the duly elected leader.
“We held an election and President Ruto was duly elected by the majority of Kenyans. What Raila is doing is unfair,” she noted.
Meanwhile East African Legislative Assembly Member of Parliament and Former Mombasa Senator Hassan Omar Sarai urged leaders in the Coast region to rally behind President William Ruto in the next general election.
“I call on our locals to rally behind our president William ruto. Raila has always been complaining about elections,” said Sarai.
The next general election will be conducted in 2027.
He noted that the only government with a solution to the myriad of challenges facing locals is the Ruto government.
He also called on Kenyans to avoid being part and parcel of the Azimio demos.
“Ruto’s government is the only government that has solutions to our problems. You should not participate in such protests.” noted Sarai.
