Nine students and three staff dead after Pwani University bus accident

Several students from Pwani University are feared dead after they were involved in an accident.

The accident occured at Kayole, Naivasha after the University bus allegedly failed breaks and the driver lost control of the vehicle.

Unconfirmed reports, indicate the bus was carrying about 30 students heading to Eldoret to participate in sports competitions.

The bus collided with a 14-seater matatu minutes after 11 am before it overturned. 

Preliminary reports indicate that the accident was caused by the brake failure of the bus. However, the same is yet to be confirmed.

The bus left the University in Kilifi on Wednesday

The students who died are Shadrack Rono of Mkuu lens, Destiny Nyambu, Nancy Owino, Jerry Osundwa, Lawrence Karanja, Dennis Sankale, Bonface Omondi, Richard, and Dancan Musyoka.

The Members of staff were Sylvester Wanje (Co-driver) Arnest Baraza (Driver) and Kennedy Omillo (football coach)

Bonface Omondi was the football team goalkeeper.
