Police foil plan to disrupt Embrace rally in Garissa

Police in Garissa have stepped in to foil an attempt by rowdy youth to scuttle an Embrace Kenya rally in Garissa Town.

Things became messy when the group of women leaders out to support the March 2018 handshake between President Uhuru Kenyatta and ODM leader Raila Odinga called for a stop to the high voltage politics.

The youths attempted to disrupt the event immediately the leaders landed at the Grissa Township grounds prompting the police to move in.

Earlier on, intelligence reports indicated that there were plans to disrupt the meeting due to local politics pitting Governor Ali Korane and National Assembly Majority Leader Aden Duale.

Duale is the area MP.
