The Orange Democratic Movement has unveiled Reaubin Katana as their flag bearer in the October 17th Ganda ward by election.
Katana was unveiled after two other candidates for the party agreed to support him through consensus. The two are Ibrahim Kaniki, and Erastus Katana alias King’ale.
The Ganda ward seat was declared vacant after the court annulled the election of Abdulrahman Mohamed.
Mohammed will defend the seat as an independent candidate.
The Ganda ward by election will serve to prove if ODM has lost its popularity in the region.
it will also test the strength of Malindi MP Aisha Jumwa who denounced his support for ODM. Aisha is supporting Mohammed.
The ceremony to unveil Katana was attended by Kakuyuni MCA Nixon Mramba, his Sokoni ward counterpart Gilbert Peru and Malindi town ward representative Kadenge Dadu.
