A section of ODM party members in Kilifi County have formed an interim committee to revamp the party in the county.
In the new formation, Governor Amason Kingi who is the chairman in the county has been elbowed out of the committee.
During the meeting attended by Kilifi deputy Governor Gideon Saburi, will open an office for the party on Wednesday.
Joseph Chilumo was elected as the interim chairman, Justine Baya was elected as Secretary.
Baya said they decided to form the interim committee because the current committee was dormant.
“ODM is still alive in Kilifi and no one should cheat you that it is dead. We want to open an office because the current leaders have not done that. We want to assure our party leader that anytime he feels like coming to Kilifi he should do so without any fear. We are the bonafide members of ODM,” said Baya

Chilumo called on the party to expel disloyal members from the party.
“If a member is disloyal he should be removed. We do not want a situation where they betray us by sharing our plans. This sponsored leaders into power and the same leaders have turned against the party.
Barke Mohammed who chairs the ODM women league said the party will begin a rigorous grass root recruitment campaign soon.
Ganze MP Teddy Mwambire who is the ODM Kilifi county vice chairman said Kingi was not removed from the post as he is still the duly elected chair.
“I was invited to that meeting but I did not attend because I was in hospital. It was meant to make the party alive and not to kick anyone out. Kingi has not written officially to resign from the party,” said Mwambire
