Members of the New African Sounds band were involved in an accident after their vehicle lost control and overturned in the Mwakirunge area as they were leaving a wedding ceremony in Kinarani, Kaloleni, Kilifi County.

The leader of the band, James Ngala, singer Steve, and some band members sustained injuries and were rushed to the hospital.
