Mombasa Cement owner Hasmukh Patel is dead

Mombasa business mogul Hasmukh Patel ‘Hasu’ is dead.

He is the proprietor of Mombasa cement.

He died at a Mombasa Hospital on Thursday aged 58.

According to family spokesman Samir Bhala, Mr. Patel succumbed on Thursday at 1 p.m. while undergoing treatment at a hospital in Mombasa. Mr. Bhala revealed that Patel had been experiencing stomach pains for two days prior to his passing.

“He was rushed to Premier Hospital where, upon arrival at the accident and emergency department, he was confirmed dead. Details regarding his burial arrangements will be communicated in due course,” stated Mr. Bhala, who also serves as the Tudor Member of County Assembly.

Mr. Patel is survived by his wife and three children.

Leaders from the Coast region have expressed their condolences, remembering Mr. Patel as a generous individual who positively impacted the lives of many, particularly within the local community.

Several leaders including Kilifi north MP Owen Baya eaulogised Hasu as a dedicated friend.

“Very very sad to Learn of the passing on of my dear Friend HASU Proprietor of Mombasa Cement. Very sad” wrote Baya.

Mombasa Governor Abdulswamad Nassir also eulogized Hasu.

“We have learned with sadness of the passing of businessman Hasmukh “Hasuu” Patel of Mombasa Cement Limited in Mombasa. Mr. Patel will be remembered for his active participation in society affairs in Mombasa as well as his generous support for the underprivileged. I take this opportunity on behalf of the County Government of Mombasa to offer our deepest condolences to the family and friends of the departed. We will stand with you during this difficult time,” said Nassir
