Man Utd to submit final offer for Jadon Sancho next week

Jadon Sancho

Manchester United will table a £90million bid for Jadon Sancho next week in an attempt to prise the England star from Borussia Dortmund.

Mirror Sport has learned the sum will be comprised of £75million up front with a further £15million in add-ons as the Red Devils submit the take-it-or-leave-it offer.

United executive vice chairman Ed Woodward will inform Dortmund there will be no negotiating over the fee or structure of the deal.

Sancho has been heavily-linked with the move to Old Trafford throughout the summer and, although the 5 October transfer deadline is fast approaching, United chiefs are confident of getting the deal over the line.

The Red Devils’ pursuit of the 20-year-old winger has lasted nearly three months, with Dortmund’s £108million asking price proving to be a significant stumbling block.

The German giants claimed the deadline to sign Sancho was 10 August, but United are convinced their hefty offer will convince the club to sell.

Old Trafford chiefs see £90million as a ‘generous’ fee in light of the far-reaching financial losses the coronavirus pandemic has caused across the footballing world.

And Woodward is well aware Sancho is keen on the move, with a contract already agreed in principle with the player worth almost £175,000 per week.

Sancho is also excited at the prospect of joining forces with a host of fellow England stars including Marcus Rashford, Harry Maguire and Mason Greenwood.

Though the late offer is a gamble, Woodward is convinced he can avoid drawn-out talks and break the transfer deadlock with an incisive bid.

The Red Devils have previously fallen foul of prolonged negotiations, such as when Barcelona turned down two late offers for Cesc Fabregas in 2013.
