A man in Ganze has committed suicide after hacking his wife to death.

The body of Kenga Kitsao, 32 was found dangling from a tree after he attacked his wife Faida Safari 28.

Milore assistant Chief Richard Kitsao said Kenga left home on Monday morning with his wife but he attacked her with a machete on the way.

“The couple left home at 4am. The husband said they were going to the market. On the way he turned on the wife and butchered her. When he was convinced that he had killed her he climbed a nearby tree and hanged himself,” he said

Kitsao said the wife had not died and was rushed to Vitengeni health centre where she succumbed.

Ganze sub county police commander Timothy Muaysa confirmed the incident.

“We are yet to establish if the couple had any wrangles prior to the attacks. We have launched investigations into the matter,” he said

Kitsao also urged residents to report cases of family disputes to the relevant authorities so that action can be taken before reaching the point of death.
