Leaders in Kilifi County have been urged to work together in a bid to push the government to erect an electric fence around the Tsavo East National Park to reduce human-wildlife conflict.
This is according to Kilifi county assembly speaker Teddy Mwambire.
Mwambire said the move will prevent wild animals especially elephants from moving out of the park.

His sentiment comes days after Kavunzoni residents lamented over constant attacks from wild animals.
Over 300 elephants are marauding in the area.
Mwambire who is also the Kilifi County Orange Democratic Party ODM chairman said the elephants have caused wanton destruction of crops in the area.
ββThe elephants are not only a menace in Kavunzoni but the entire Ganze sub-county. They have led to the destruction of crops in many farms,ββ he said.
He noted that farmers have not been able to carry out farming for fear of losing their crops to elephants.
The speaker noted that Mwahera, Mrima wa Ndege, Jilore, Mryachakwe are the worst-hit areas in the sub-county.
He noted that the Kenya Wildlife Service has been recording a high number of elephants. This has made it difficult to contain them.
