Several Kenyatta University students are feared to have lost their lives in a tragic collision between their school bus and a trailer.
Initial reports suggest that the bus, carrying public health students en route to Mombasa for an academic excursion, was involved in the accident.
The incident occured in Maungu, Voi, within Taita Taveta county, along the Mombasa-Nairobi highway.
The University bus was extensively damaged on the left side.
The trailer was reportedly en route to Nairobi when the collision occurred.
Numerous occupants of the bus, who sustained injuries, were evacuated to the Moi County Referral Hospital in Voi.
Emergency response teams were actively engaged in evacuating the scene at the time of this report.
