Kenya records 72 covid-19 cases, total rises to 2093

Kenya on Tuesday recorded 72 new covid-19 cases, raising the total number to 2093 Health CAS Rashid Aman has announced.

This is out of the 2,892 samples tested in the last 24 hours.

So far, 82,946 samples have been tested.

Another 17 patients have been discharged, raising the recoveries to 499. At the same time, two more people have succumbed to the virus raising the deaths to 71.

Out of the 72 cases, 39 are from Nairobi. Busia 13, Mombasa 8, Kajiado 4, Migori 3, Kiambu 2, Garissa 2, and Kisumu 1

The youngest is 11 years and oldest is 73.

Aman raised concerns that many Kenyans no longer observe the containment measures.

He urged Kenyans to visit health facilities when sick.

“Our facilities are there to serve you. We have put in place infection control measures and we are encouraging you to seek medical care if you are unwell,” Said Aman.
