Kenya records 66 new covid-19 cases

Kenya’s Covid-19 cases have risen to 1,029 after 66 new cases were reported on Wednesday.

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe said 64 of the new cases are Kenyans, while two are foreigners.

This is the highest number since the first was case reported in March.

out of the 66 cases 30 are from Mombasa, while 26 are from Nairobi. Kajiado had three new cases.

The government also announced extension of the cessation of movement in Eastleigh and Old Town in Mombasa to June 6.

 Kagwe said the extension was because the areas were still recording many cases.

“The restaurants and malls are to remain closed until then. Mombasa continues to be a challenge. Thirty of the 66 cases reported today are from Mombasa,” Kagwe said.

Kagwe said some areas in Mombasa County like Likoni and Changamwe are of major concern to the government.
