Kilifi records one new Covid-19 case as Kenya records 52

Kilifi county has recorded one more Covid-19 case as the country recorded 52 new cases.

This brings the total cases in the country to 1, 161. The case was recorded in Rabai sub county.

So far Kilifi has recorded 11 cases eight of which have recovered

Health CS Mutahi Kagwe on Friday said the 52 were reported after testing 2,567 samples in the last 24 hours.

The cumulative tests conducted so far is 55, 074.

On a positive note, Kagwe announced the discharging of five people raising the number of recoveries to 380.

23 of the cases were recorded in Nairobi, Mombasa and Busia had seven each.

Other counties that recorded new covid-19 cases are Kwale 5, Kajiado 4, Nakuru 2, Kiambu 1, Taita Taveta 1, Kilifi 1, Nzoia 1.

The Seven cases in Mombasa are from; Jomvu (4), Mvita (2) and Nyali (1). In Busia, the seven cases are from; Teso South (4), Teso North (2) and Matayos (1).

The cases in Kajiado are from; Kajiado Central (2), Kajiado West (1) and Loitokitok (1).

In Nakuru, the cases are from; Naivasha (1) and Rongai (1).

Kiambu Town, Trans Nzoia East, and Taita Taveta have one case each.

In Kwale, all the five (5) cases are from Msambweni.

In Nairobi, the cases were recorded in Kibra (8), Langata (3), Kamukunji (2), Dagoretti North (2), Embakasi East (2), Embakasi South (1), Embakasi West (1), Kasarani (1), Starehe (1), Roysambu (1) and mandatory quarantine (1).

Kagwe said to keep the numbers low, Kenyans must adhere to measures as directed by the government.

The ministry has also projected that the peak of infections in the country is expected to be around August and September, when Kenyans are expected to see at least 200 cases recorded in a day.
