Kenya records 30 new covid-19 cases

Kenya on Sunday recorded 30 new cases of Covid-19, raising the number to 465, CAS Rashid Aman has said.

The 30 are from the 883 samples that were tested in the last 24 hours.

out of the 30 cases, 19 are from Mombasa, eight Nairobi , two from Bungoma and one from Kitui counties.

Aman further announced that there are 15 new recoveries and two more deaths, Aman said.

This brings the total number of recoveries to 167 and the number of fatalities to 24.

The two deaths were recorded in Mombasa County.

He urged Kenyans to willingly go for testing.

He urged Kenyans to continue abiding by the measures and mitigation by the government.

He expressed concerns that majority of hoteliers and those from public transport have gone back to their normal routine despite caution from the government.

“If we do not abide by the containment measures put in place, the spread of this virus will be extensive and difficult to control,” he said.
