Kenya confirms 5 more Covid-19 cases


Kenya has confirmed five new covid-19 cases bringing the country’s total number to 189.

Speaking on Friday during the daily covid-19 briefings, Health CS Mutahi Kagwe has said the five are all Kenyans and one has a history of travel from the United Arab Emirates.

Three of the patients are from Mombasa County while Nairobi and Nyandarua counties have one case each. They are three are male and two female aged between 27 and 58.

Kagwe further announced that 10 individuals have recovered, bringing the total to 22.

He said the five new cases were out of 504 samples tested within the last 24 hours.

Kagwe warned Kenyans against handling of cash.

He expressed concerns that many Kenyans were not heeding advice of using mobile money.

He also announced that Kenya will now start automatic testing.

Kenya can now undertake 600 tests a day.
