A KDF chopper has crashed in Kaben, Marakwet East.

The area has been cordoned off.

Officials say five people have died while three survived.

The three survivors have been airlifted by a second military aircraft.

Elgeyo Marakwet County Commandant Peter Mulinge confirmed the crash.

The county commandant said the aircraft was among three choppers which were leaving Cheptulel area.

It was the first to take off before crash landing minutes later.
