High Court trashes Ezekiel’s application to unfreeze accounts

The High Court sitting in Mombasa has dismissed an application to unfreeze over 15 bank accounts belonging to Pastor Ezekiel Odero.

Odero moved to the High Court in Mombasa on May 3 seeking conservatory orders to prevent the government from freezing over 15 personal and church bank accounts.

High Court Judge Olga Sewe said the application is entirely misconceived and untenable.

She said she will refrain from commenting on the correctness and legality of the orders issued by the Magistrate Court in Nairobi last week.

The High Court also dismissed an application for the orders sought to have his TV license reinstated, saying the petitioners ought to have exhausted all the legal channels with Communication Authority before coming to court.
