Former nominated Member of County Assembly of Kilifi, Arafa Salim has passed on.
Arafa died on Friday morning at the Jocham Hospital in Mombasa where she was receiving treatment.
Unconfirmed reports indicate she succumbed to covid-19.

Kilifi governor Amason Kingi eulogized Arafa as an environmental champion and respected leader.
“I’m saddened to learn of the passing on of former nominated Member of County Assembly of Kilifi, Hon Arafa Salim moments ago. Hon Arafa was a staunch advocate of environmental conservation and climate resilience. Her demise is a big loss to us all, and in particular, the Mida Creek Community, where she spearheaded conservation of the indigenous mangrove trees,” posted Kingi on social media
Arafa was the Bidii na Kazi women group matron, which has 57 members.
The group has been spearheading coservation of Mangrove at Mida creek.
