DP Ruto’s ally Feisal Bader wins Msambweni seat

Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission has declared Feisal Bader as the winner for the Msambweni parliamentary seat by-election.

Bader who vied as an independent candidate garnered 15, 251 Votes against ODM’s Omar Boga who got 10, 444 votes.

The seat fell vacant after the death of Suleiman Dori early this year.

Sheikh Abdulrahman (wiper) came a distant third garnering 790 votes against other seven opponents.

The declaration was made Wednesday morning by Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) Returning Officer Yusuf Abubakar, who issued the winner with an election certificate.

A total of 27,313 votes were cast in a constituency that has 69,003 registered voters.

Bader led in all the wards considered Boga’s stronghold.

Gombato/Bongwe and Ukunda wards were considered as Boga’s strongholds while Ramisi and Kinondo were considered Bader’s strongholds.

Msambweni has 69, 003 registered voters.

Boga first vied for the Msambweni parliamentary seat in 2017 where he was trounced by the late Dori.

Dori garnered 22,564 against Boga’s 10, 275.

in the Dabaso ward mini-poll, ODM’s Dickson Karani was declared the winner.

He garnered 2499 votes against the immediate former MCA Emmanuel Changawa who managed to get 2351 votes.
