The allure and tranquility of Diani beach

Diani beach

Diani Beach is one of the most thrilling locations for relaxing and enjoying the beach in Kenya.

It is located 30 kilometres south of Mombasa, in the nearby Kwale County. The beach line is about 10 kilometers long, stretching from the Kongo River to the north and Galu beach to the south.

Its surroundings are breathtaking, stunning and unique. The sweeping sails and curving beams create an ambience unparalleled on the whole east coast of Africa.

The pearly-white sands blend into the turquoise warm waters of the Indian Ocean creating a perfect backdrop of tranquility for a truly memorable time. The large tidal movement on beach creates a width of up to 200m of white sand at low tide.

Unlike other public beaches, this beach has a huge variety of activities to suit both local and foreign visitors.

Whatever your fun – be it kiteboarding/kite surfing, safari, jet skiing, scuba diving, big game fishing, mountain bike tours, sea kayaking, and more – you will find it at Diani Beach.

The strong coastal winds and low tides provide excellent Kite and Windsurfing conditions for all levels. Those who wish to dive will be spoilt for choice. The stunning coral reef and huge marine life, serve up over 25 world class dive sites to explore.

Low tide is extra dramatic with almost half a kilometre of beach opening out towards the most superb mixture of blue and green colours that add so much to the unique experience one gets.

Local and foreign visitors have no problem accessing the public beach. The Beach road is served by both public and private means. Other visitors prefer motor bikes-bodabodas. A small airstrip is located between the beach area and the Mombasa-Lunga Lunga road.

The water remains shallow near shore, with some underwater sandbars near the surface which allow wading with a clear view of the sandy bottom. Inland from the beach, there is extensive vegetation including numerous palm trees which cover the coastal areas. Visitors have easy time along this beach as the area has high-end restaurants, hotels, supermarkets, and several shopping centres. Getting necessities for ones needs at the beach is not a big deal.

Set in the soft white sands of the Kenyan south coastline by the turquoise blue Indian Ocean, Diani Public Beach  provides a unique thrilling adventure; some sort of a dream escape to visitors seeking to have a relaxing cool breeze along-with spectacular view of the Kenya’s marine wildlife.

The advantages of kiting and kiteboarding at Diani Public Beach are endless, consistent side shore, winds bath, warm water, beach space galore, flat water or waves, waist high sandy lagoon, powder soft white sand, turquoise clear water, no coral or urchins, no sharks,  no pollution, setting up, landing and launching facilities, storage facilities, no long walk to the beach.
