Dream Achievers Youth Organization, now a national NGO, wants the government to develop a special program designed to cushion the youths from the strains of unemployment.
DAYO Executive Director Seif Jira says the media fraternity is currently experiencing a surge in the number of youths looking for jobs.
Jira noted, ‘The program will not only provide job opportunities but also prevent them from engaging in unethical vices.’’
He was speaking at the DAYO during the launch of the DAYO Radio, an online streaming radio.
The DAYO CEO noted that the radio will mainly focus on sexual reproductive and health rights SRHR issues amongst the youths.
‘’We are targeting all the youths, especially those who are currently online,’’ he said.
Jira further indicated that the organization has also launched the Training and Resource Centre where youths will be trained on SRHR issues.
He pointed out ‘’Today marks the dual launch of DAYO Radio and our Training and Resource Centre—an empowering initiative to transform our community.
DAYO Radio and the Training and Resource Centre are more than launches; they are catalysts for positive change.’’ He stated.
Jira also noted that they have received overwhelming support from the Media Council of Kenya.
”MCK has promised to work closely with us. they will be bringing us media trainees so that they can receive the requisite skills,” He said
DAYO is a National Youth led Organization registered under the NGOs Coordination Board.
The organization has been championing the rights of young and adolescents since 2005
