Kenya now has 19, 125 Covid-19 cases after 544 new cases were confirmed on Wednesday.
Confirming the cases, Health Cabinet Secretary Mutahi Kagwe said 12 more patients succumbed to the virus in the last 24 hours, bringing total deaths to 311.
On a positive note, 113 patients have recovered from the disease, bringing the total number of recoveries in the country so far to 8, 021.
The CS alluded that the cold weather has contributed to the fueling of the recent spike in virus cases.
He urged people to avoid congregating.
The new positives were drawn from the 5, 259 people whose samples were tested within 24 hours.
This brings the country’s cumulative total tests to 289, 759.
Kagwe said in terms of gender, 340 were male and 204 were female.
