Kiembeni Catholic Church priest Rev. Father Vincent Alicho has asked the government to consider the less fortunate in the society as the country battles the third wave of covid-19.
According to Alicho, most Kenyans especially the underprivileged are battling with the pangs of the effects of Covid-19.
Speaking to the media in Mombasa on Sunday, he said the less fortunate are struggling to survive in a hard-hit economy.

“We have been affected by the pandemic in one way or the other. Now we need to assist the less fortunate in society because they are part and parcel of the larger society,” he said
He also asked religious leaders to assist the less fortunate in society saying it is the responsibility of the church to look after them.
“I call on my fellow leaders to go out there and assist the underprivileged in the community. The bible teaches us about giving back to the community,” noted the Catholic faithful
The catholic clergy notes that the church has been adhering to all the covid-19 protocols asking the clergy to adhere to the same to avoid the spread of the virus.
“We have done what it takes to stop the spread of Covid-19 in our church. We have a strong medical team that oversees all the protocols including sanitizing, keeping social distance among others protocols,” noted the faithful.
The church on Sunday held a mass with some of the vulnerable members of the church including the deaf and the dumb.
