“I was supported by Wings to fly in my secondary education. I used to perform well but my performance dropped after the death of my mother while I was in form three,” she said

She is now depending on her grandfather who is an angler.

“The situation back home is bad. Getting a meal is a challenge. I want to further my studies so that I can change the situation back home,” she said

She said education of girls in Magarini constituency is still low and many girls fail to complete their studies because of the poverty that has afflicted many residents.

On the other hand, Beatrice Sifa, who is helping her in finding donors, is asking donors to come forward to enable the girl to start her studies.

Sifa said she had to look for Mwangira after a plea from her daughter who schooled with her in Primary school.

“My daughter told me about the predicament of her friend and I decided to look for her. I found her in Mtwapa and I pleaded with my friends to support the girl collect her academic papers from Alliance girls where she schooled. She managed to get her papers and we started the journey to look for her University fees. She is a very bright girl,” she said

Sifa said she is worried her current predicament can easily ruin her life.

“She is an orphan. She has a sister who is sitting for her KCPE examination in November this year. Her family is looking upon her to support them. All this can easily make her think of getting married or involve herself in immoral behaviour to support the family,” she said

In her secondary studies, she was supported by the Wings to fly scholarship.
