Deputy president william Ruto has blamed the Building Bridges Initiative for derailing the realization of the Big Four agenda.
Speaking while addressing traders at Kaio Hall in Kilifi south Sub-county on Monday, Ruto said the plan to amend the constitution was ochestrated to sabotage the government’s development plan.
“We planned the Big Four agenda with president Uhuru Kenyatta. This plan was for the second term. They converted the Big four agenda to BBI and reggae. We have wasted four years which we had planned to offer affordable housing to everyone. We had also planned to boost agriculture by doing agro-processing value addition and manufacturing. This has denied Kenyans good and affordable services,” he said.
Ruto said he will make sure the constitutional amendment is halted and start a conversation on overturning the economy.
“I will force the change of this conversation. The debate to offer extra seats for leaders must take a back seat and give way to the welfare of citizens. Constitutional change should be secondary while development should come first. We will put empowerment as a priority,” he said.

The deputy president said political leaders in the country are not sincere.
“Political conmanship in the country is rife, especially among leaders. Some people still believe Reggae is on holiday but will come back. These are the same people who sabotaged the big four agenda. They told us that the Big four agenda is not important compared to BBI. We know these saboteurs and I want to tell them that there are no more fools in Kenya. If you have sabotaged the Big four agenda now you are telling us if we change the constitution and give you more powers then you will take Kenya forward. You are a conman,” he added
Ruto said he has no political connections nor political godfathers but depends on the hustler nation and God the father.
“I do not blame these people. They have never slept hungry. They do not know how it is to walk without shoes. They do not know what it is to be poor. Let’s forgive them,” said Ruto
The DP met over 1000 small business people drawn from across Kilifi county.
He gave Ksh 1.5 million for 300 business people to boost their business.
“This money is from our pockets but next year we will set a kitty to boost your business. I am confident we will form the next government. Apart from the Ksh 100 million for NG-CDF, we will set aside another Ksh 100 million for every constituency for boosting businesses.
