16 students burnt beyond recognition at Hillside Endarasha Academy

At least 16 pupils have been burnt to death at Hillside Endarasha Academy in Kieni, Nyeri, following a fire incident on Thursday night.

National Police Service Spokesperson Resila Onyango has confirmed that one of the dormitories was razed down killing the 16

She said 14 other students sustained injuries and were rushed to hospital

“We have 16 pupils dead and 14 injured. We are investigating the cause and take necessary action,” she said.

15 of them were burnt beyond recognition while one died while being rushed to the hospital.

The cause of the fire is yet to be established.

There are fears that more bodies are likely to be recovered once the scene is fully processed.

Parents and guardians of the pupils have also been alerted and rushed there.
